This site has been set up to help the people of Auchenback, Barrhead and beyond learn what they can do to tackling climate change.

The information will not only help to reduce your carbon footprint, but will help you save money with top tips on how to stop wasting food and how to reduce your fuel bills.

Keep Scotland Beautiful can provide a huge range of information on how to help improve your environment, your community and your quality of life.

How you can help?

 

There are a number of ways you can be involved in helping Auchenback and Barrhead become more climate friendly.  These range from simply becoming a food waste champion to encoruage other residents find ways to avoid wasting food, to having a small composter in your garden, grow your own herbs or veg or perhaps you'd like to help out in some of the local community growing sites such as Waterworks.

March '18

PASS IT ON WEEK is running from 10th - 18th March where communities are encouraged to reuse, recycle, swap or repair anything to make it last and avoid be thrown away.  More information can be found here.  

April  '18

EARTH DAY on 22nd April theme this year is reducing plastic pollution.  Over 1bn people in 192 countries take part in this event.  Why not take a few minutes to find out how you can help and be involved.  More information can be found here

June  '18

VOLUNTEERS WEEK  1 - 7th June.  This is a great opportunity to spend some time improving your environment such as cleaning up a waste area, establishing compost sites or learning how to reduce your food waste.  More information can be found  here
